Our policy
We respect intellectual-property rights and expect our users to do the same. When we receive a valid notice we remove or disable access to the material, notify the person who posted it, and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Reporting infringement
Email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:
- your name, address, phone number and email address (and, if you act for someone else, whom you represent);
- a description of the copyrighted work or other right you believe is infringed;
- the link (URL) to each item on Charbit you want removed, or enough detail for us to find it (for example the character name and a screenshot);
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them;
- your physical or electronic signature.
You can also report a single item from the app with the ••• menu → Report. Notices that are incomplete or clearly mistaken may take longer or may not be actioned. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for damages.
If your content was removed
If you believe material was removed by mistake or that you have the right to use it, reply to our notice or email [email protected] with the subject "Counter-notice", identifying the material, explaining why, and including your name, contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, your consent to the jurisdiction of a competent court, and your signature. We will share your counter-notice with the person who complained and may restore the material unless they tell us they have started legal action.
Requests under Japanese law
Rights holders and people whose rights are infringed may also send requests for removal or for disclosure of sender information under Japan’s Act on Countermeasures for Information Distribution Platforms (formerly the Provider Liability Limitation Act) to the same address. We handle them as that law requires.
AI-generated content
